Dimension Needed!

I lent my 385 retoother to a friend, so I need a little help from someone out there. Pedder in Germany just got a Foley 385 and the rubber drive wheel is kaputz. If someone can throw a caliper on their drivewheel and post a comment on the size (thickness and diameter) he'd be a happy camper. Thanks guys!

  1. What's left of the drive wheel on my 385 is 1.25 inches in diameter by 3/16 inches thick. It works but must have been slightly bigger/thicker once upon a time.

  3. Hi Matt,

I've been told that foley didn't stopp selling the drivewheels. My retoother is handpowered right now, but maybe I'll buy a wheel.

    Cheers Pedder

  4. I know this is old, but just so that the proper information is available, should someone else need it. I have an original wheel in front of me.

The center appears to go on a 1/2" round rod, and is .5100" in diameter. It has a set screw in the side.

The outer diameter of the wheel is 1.6" (rubber).

For the record, they do turn by hand, which gets old quick. You can also adapt a small pulley and attach a v-belt around the small pulley and larger flywheel. That is how the older models operated.

The rubber wheel is a weak point on the 385, as the rubber gets old and brittle and breaks apart.
